This adorable Dollar Tree Christmas Mailbox Decor can easily be made using the tin mini mailboxes from the Dollar Tree.
Of course, it’s the perfect festive DIY project for anyone that loves Christmas!
Have you been to a Dollar Tree store lately? If you haven’t, you should go soon. I love shopping at the Dollar tree, especially during the Christmas season.
The Dollar Tree has rows and rows of shelves stocked with Christmas EVERYTHING!
There’s so much Christmas and holiday stuff to choose from the beloved Dollar Tree that I can’t even begin to list it all here!
All I can say is that the store blows my mind! Every time I go shopping at the Dollar Tree, I walk out with bags of stuff to craft.
Of course, it takes me a few hours to go through everything in the store. Usually, I have to go down each aisle.
That’s the reason I always go shopping while my kid is at school ..LOL!
When I go shopping by myself, it gives me time to think and come up with ideas, like this mailbox decor.
If you don’t have a Dollar Tree where you live, Hobby Lobby sells the tin mini mailboxes too.
Also, I think I saw mini tin mailboxes at Michaels the other day while I was looking at Cricut Machines.
Supplies for Dollar Tree Christmas Mailbox Decor
For the Dollar Tree Christmas Mailbox decor some of the supplies were purchased from Hobby Lobby.
- Mini Tin Mailbox
- Floral Picks with Birds
- Sponge Brush Handle
- E6000 or Hot Glue
- Ribbon Bow
- Round Wooden Disk
- Canadian Pine Stems (optional)
- Red Apple Acrylic Paint
How to make The DIY Mailbox Decor
First, to make the DIY Mailbox Decor, you’ll need a mini tin mailbox.
We happen to find a mailbox with a red pickup truck on it.
It seems the red pickup truck is popular again this holiday season!
Second, paint the wooden disk red. We did two coats of red paint.
Next, unscrew the sponge paint brush from the handle. Paint the wooden handle with a least two coats of the red paint.
Third, after the paint is dried, place the mailbox upside down. Glue one end of the wooden handle to the bottom of the mailbox in the center.
After the glue is dried and the wooden handle adheres, glue the other end of the handle to the center of the wooden disk.
Fourth, wrap the Canadian Pine Stem around the wooden handle.
Last, tie the decorative bow to the wooden handle. Then use hot glue to adhere the floral picks to the wooden base of the mailbox (wooden disk).
Now stand back and admire your Christmas mailbox decor!
Isn’t the Dollar Tree mailbox adorable? Don’t forget to let the kids fill the tin mailbox with letters to Santa. It’s makes a lovely Santa mailbox, too.
Also, the DIY mini mailbox would make a great gift for teachers, hairdressers, and the school secretary. Just fill the mailbox with their favorite Christmas sweets.
