These Halloween Wine Bottle Figures using recycled mini wine bottles is a fun and easy project, that’s an excellent way to recycle old glass bottles.
I had these small wine bottles sitting on my counter for a few months. I never knew what I was going to make with them until yesterday.
While , I was visiting the pumpkin patch with my little boy my mind went back to the wine bottles sitting on my counter. Sometimes , an idea comes to me at the weirdest time.
What you need for Halloween Wine Bottle Figures
- 3 small empty wine bottles with tops
- baking soda or salt or sugar
- black food coloring
- orange food coloring
- white paint or paint pen
- black marker or paint pen
- 2 cookie sheets
- newspaper
- 2 empty containers with tight lids
- green , white & black paint (optional)
- black foam
- vinegar
- rice
How to make Halloween Wine Bottle Figures
Ghost Bottle
First, use a clean and dry wine bottle. Next, pour in the baking soda using a funnel.
Replace the cap and paint it white. Then use a paint pen or sharpie to draw on the eyes and mouth.
Pumpkin Bottle
Start off by using a clean and dry wine bottle . You will need to dye your rice orange and let it dry for 30 minutes on newspaper before you start this project.
We used AmeriColor from Hobby Lobby. I found a great tutorial on pinterest on how to dye rice here .
Also, you’ll need one cup of rice. Next, when the rice is dry use the funnel to pour it into the wine bottle. After, draw on the face using a sharpie marker.
I painted the cap green and replaced it back on the bottle. I added some raffia around the bottle. You could also use twine or ribbon.
Bat Bottle
First, use a clean and dry wine bottle. You will need to dye your rice black and let it dry for 30 minutes on newspaper before you start this project.
Next, we used AmeriColor from Hobby Lobby. I found a great tutorial on pinterest on how to dye rice here .
Approximately, I used one cup of rice. Next, when the rice is dry use the funnel to pour it into the wine bottle. Use white paint or a white paint pen to draw on the eyes and fangs.
Additionally, we found a few tutorials for the bats wings here. I used the template from the tutorial for my bat wings .I used black foam for the wings.
Furthermore, I painted the cap black and replaced it back on the bottle.
Aren’t the recycled bottles cute? This fun and adorable wine bottle craft is a great project forgiving new life to items that you would normally throw in the garbage.
